Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs due to the pancreas not producing enough insulin. While diabetes mellitus type 2 is diabetes caused the body can not use insulin either or lack of insulin is relatively less than blood sugar. This study aims to describe and know the analyst of drug use diabetes mellitus type 2 in patient installation of Karanganyar General Hospital in 2016. This research is a non-experimental descriptive research by retrospective data retrieval from medical record patient data of urinary tract infection. Data used include patient identity, and class and type of drugs used. The results showed that antidiabetes mellitus drug used was Metformin 46,83%, Glimepiride 18,35%, Glikuidon 15,82%, Akarbose 10,12%, Glibenklamid 8,8%, and the most used was Metformin equal to 46,83 %. The use of diabetes mellitus drug in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Inpatient Installation of Karanganyar General Hospital in 2016 is in accordance with Hospital Formulary (100%) and 2015 (100%).
