Abstract

Moringa leaf is a traditional plant which is known to treat liver disease. Moringa leaf is a empirically which has been proven to protect liver is previos experiment by Syahrin et al. 2016 has been conducted research to see hepatoprotective effects on the liver. The aimed of this study is to find hepatoprotective effect of ethanol extract moringa leaf paracetamol induced white male mice wistar strain parameter with ALT and AST, and to find the most effective dose of ethanol extract moringa leaf which can provide hepatoprotective effect on white male mice wistar strain which paracetamol induced. This study were used 30 white male mice wistar strain which divided into 6 group of normal control is normal group which only given feed and drink orally. Negative control was given CMC Na 1%. Positive control was given Curcuma® 3,6mg/200 kgBB. Treatment group I, II, III were given ethanol extract of moringa leaf in respective doses 90, 180, 360 mg/kg BB. All treatment group were given paracetamol 1,35 mg/kgBB to induce white male mice wistar strain except the normal group. Result obtained from this study were ethanol extract moringa leaf given only orally for 7 day with induced paracetamol the effect by inhibiting the increase ALT and AST. Dose ethanol extract moringa leaf which possess most effective in this study was 360 mg/kgBB. Keywords: Moringa Leaf (Moringa oleifera Lamk.), ALT, AST, Hepatoprotective
