Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension increased with increasing age, therefore patients geriatric hypertension need more attention in its treatment. Research on the rationality of use antihypertensive drugs on geriatric patients was conducted to find out whether the drug was given to patients already rational because in fact the number of occurrence of hypertension at age of geriatric medicine is still high (65,4%). This research is a non-experimental research and used retrospective approach. The data is taken from the patient's medical record in geriatric hypertension age 60-74 year in Installation Inpatient general hospital Dr. Moewardi 2016. Analysis of rationality based on JNC VII and Depkes 2006. The rationality is the right indication, right drug, right dose and right patient. The results showed that monoterapy antyhipertensve drugs that were the most widely used CCB (amlodipine) of 22.56% and combination 2 medication the most widely used was the CCB and ARB (amlodipine and candesartan) of 17.95%. Antyhipertensive drug use based on rationality JNC VII was right indication 100%, right drug 100%, right dose 100% and right patient 100%. Where as on the basis of Health 2006, right indication 100%, right drug 100%, right dose 100% and right patient 100%.
