Abstract

Hypertension is a condition in which a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal indicated by the number of systolic and diastolic numbers on checks using a blood pressure using a pressure gauge. The disease causing genetic factors, aging, unhealthy lifestyle and environment. The objective of research was to find out the anti-hypertension drug use pattern in geriatric patients and the compatibility of anti-hypertension drug use in geriatri patients Inpatient Ward of Pandan Arang Boyolali Local General Hospital in 2014 with the standard Formulary of Hospital and JNC 7. The data anti-hypertension drug use pattern was obtained in geriatric patients in inpatient ward of Boyolali obtained were processed and included into table using Microsoft Office Excel 2007 so that a description on anti-hypertension use drug was obtained. The method used was a retrospective non-experimental descriptive method. The result of research anti-hypertension drug use pattern was obtained in geriatric patients in inpatient ward of Boyolali Pandan Arang hospital in 2014 The results of the data showed that commonly used type of anti-hypertension drug was in class of ACE Inhibitors are Captopril. The use of anti-hypertension drug in geriatric patients in inpatient ward of Boyolali Pandan Arang hospital in 2014 is in conformity with the provisions Formulary of Hospital and JNC 7, indicated by the compatibility percentage of 100%.
