Abstract

Oral iron tablets are iron tablet containing ferrous sulfate is used to cope with iron deficiency anemia. Hemoglobin levels is the value contained in the red blood cells. Third trimester pregnant women is pregnancy ranging from 7 months to 9 months. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of oral iron tablets to pregnant women trimester hemoglobin level III. This research method is experimental one-group pretest-posttes desing. The study population was respondents who do prenatal care in the third trimester III boyolali clinic in March until June 2013. 51 samples examined using methods sianmethemoglobin hemoglobin levels. Data were analyzed using paired sample t test singnifikansi test with 5% and 95% confidence intervals. The results showed an average hemoglobin level before the third trimester pregnant women giving oral iron tablets was 10.7 gr/dl after administration of oral iron tablets for 8 weeks the average hemoglobin level to 11.5 gr/dl, an increase in the evarage hemoglobin level of 0,8 gr/ dl. Test results of paried samples t test showed p=0.001 and p<0.005 singnifikansi accepted at 5% level, so there is the effect of oral iron tablets to pregnant women trimester hemoglobin level III.
