Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) Effect of internal controls over the application of the principles of Good Corporate Governance, and the impact of the implementation of Good Corporate Governance principles to managerial performance. The dependent variable used in this study is the managerial performance. While the independent variable in this study is the use of Good Corporate Governance and internal control as antecedent variables. This study uses primary data conducted by survey method using a questionnaire. Population in this study are all managers at the General Hospital Dr Moewardi and Kasih Ibu General Hospital Surakarta. The research sample of 40 respondents were determined using purposive sampling. The samples were selected to include middle level managers and lower-level include head of division, the head of sub-section, and the section head. Of the 40 questionnaires wich was shared the amount that can be processed only 34 questionnaires were returned. Further questionnaires were analyzed using the statistical package for social science (IBM SPSS) with simple linear regression technique. The results showed that: (1) internal control has a significant positive effect on the Principles of Good Corporate Governance, (2) Principles of Good Corporate Governance showed a significant positive effect on managerial performance.
