Abstract

Pharmaceutical services is direct service and responsible to patients related to pharmaceutical preparations with the aim of achieving definite results to improve the patients’ quality of life. The pharmacy service paradigm requires that there be an expansion from product oriented (drug oriented) to be patient oriented with the philosophy of pharmacy services (pharmaceutical care). One of the effort to improve the quality of health services is to improve the quality of pharmacy services, namely by improving the waiting time for drug prescription services (Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia, 2016). The Purpose of this study is to find out the waiting time for prescription services at Karanganyar Health Center, Kebumen district. The research design used was descriptive research using Analytical Observation with data retrieval using Cohort study. The population in this study were outpatients at Karanganyar Health Center, Kebumen district, with sampling technique used was total sampling. While the research tools used consisted of observation sheets and other supporting data. Based on the results of the research conducted, the average waiting time for drug prescription concoction and non-concoction services were 11.4 and 6.02 minutes. The average total waiting time for prescription services without distinguishing types of drug was 8.73 minutes. These numbers were in accordance with the standards determined by Karanganyar Health Center with a standard waiting time for drug prescription concoction is 30 minutes and drug prescription of non-concoction is 15 minutes.
