Abstract
Blood type is a special characteristic of red blood cells having different protein and carbohydrate content. Worldwide, there are four blood groups ABO, A, B, AB, and O. The aim of blood type examination is to find out blood type and Rhesus. Blood type in children can reveal one of the children's identities associated with their parents. Scientific Writing is compiled based on the results of examination of capillary blood samples in 60 students of Gumpang Elementary School 3 in grades 5 and 6 in Kartasura District, Sukohrjo Regency. This research is a type of descriptive research. School data for the 2015/2016 school year showed that none of the elementary school children at SDN Gumpang III Kartasura had examined blood groups or rhesus, so it was deemed necessary to examine blood groups in priority classes 5 and 6. Results of ABO and Rhesus blood type examination followed by 40 students in grade 5 and 6 of SDN Gumpang III Kartasura. The results of the examination showed that there were 22% of participants in blood type A, 27% of participants in blood type B, 45% of participants in blood type O and 6% of participants in blood type AB. All students in grades 5 and 6 have Rhesus positive (Rh +). Key word : blood type, ABO, Rhesus, Elementary School
