Abstract
Hypertension remains a considerable problem, based on data from World Health Organization (WHO) it affects about 22% of the world population. Diuretics are drugs that increase the rate of urin. The term of diuretics has two meanings, the first showing an increase in volume urine produced and the seconds represents the amount of expenditure (loss) of dissolved substances and water. Parsley, Celery, and Carrot plants a high concentration of flavonoid (apiin and apigenin) compounds. The research purpose to investigate the diuretic activity and chemical compounds of Parsley (Petroselinum crispum), celery (Apium graveolens L), and carrot (Daucus Carota L) plants which is nutritious as a diuretic. The research started with study of diuretic activity and identification of plant was carried out using literature review to knows activity diuretics of Parsley (Petroselinum crispum), celery (Apium graveolens L),,and carrot (Daucus Carota L) plants. The results of the study diuretic activity showed that Peterseli (Petroselinum crispum), Seledri (Apium graveolens L), Wortel (Daucus Carota L) plants have activity diuretics of various test animal determined by the parameters of urine volume. Flavonoids is a substance that has diuretics activity with work mechanism that inhibit Na+ , K+ dan Cl�reabsorbs an electroliyte increase at tubulus.
