Abstract

Family support is an interpersonal relationship that can provide a sense of love, secure, comfort, and empathy, as well as acceptance and the act of providing assistance if needed. A family must have limitations so they need help or support from family members. Family support includes various dimentions are emotional, instrumental, information and social. This research was conducted with the aim of looking at the description of emotional support, instrumental support, information support and social support from families in the care of children with autism. The research method used is qualitative case study research with 3 informants and 3 significant others as the subject. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results on this research shows that the three research subjects have similarities in terms of family support. This similarity can be seen from one form of support, namely that family members are not ashamed of having siblings who have autism. The three subjects get the four forms of family support, although the support received is not optimal so that childcare can be helped and is not constrained.
