Abstract

Preparations used on the outside of the human body whose function is to clean, perfume and change appearance are cosmetic preparations. The purpose of this study was to determine the manufacture of natural hair dye from papaya seeds and also to determine the concentration of papaya seed extract that produced the best color. Papaya seeds themselves contain glycoside carpain which functions to give a brown color. The method in this study was done by maceration. Therefore, hair dye preparations are divided into several formulas based on the concentration variations of papaya seed extract, namely 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. Then it is mixed with the basis of the shampoo formula, divided into 4 formulas where F0 is the control, then physical quality test, safety test and hedonic test are carried out to see how strong the effect of hair coloring in the shampoo preparation is. The results showed that the papaya seed extract hair coloring shampoo had good physical quality then this shampoo had the ability to clean and color the hair where the color of this shampoo was red brown, then a hedonic test was carried out where the probandus response to this hair coloring shampoo was very good. .
