Abstract
Myricetin is a flavone class that has antioxidant effects with systemic bioavailability and low water solubility. The preparation of nanophytosomes can increase bioavability and drug solubility. Cream is a semi-solid preparation, in the form of an emulsion containing not less than 60% water. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical quality of each cream formula on the use of variations in the concentration of Tween 80 and span 80 and antioxidant activity. Nanophytosomes are prepared using thin-layer hydration-sonication. Myricetin nanophytosome antioxidant cream formula with variations of tween 80: span 80 of 3%, 5%, 7% as an emulgator. The cream preparation was then tested for its physical stability which included organoleptic test, pH, viscosity, homogeneity, storage stability, adhesion test, spreadability test, irritation test, antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The data obtained were analyzed using oneway ANOVA. The results showed that all myricetin nanophytosome cream formulas had good physical quality. The higher the emulgator concentration used, the smaller the viscosity and adhesion values, but the greater the spreadability. The IC50 value of pure myricetin was 17.04 ppm and myricetin nanophytosome was 19.82 ppm. The results of the nanophytosome antioxidant activity test in the cream showed formula 1,2,3, respectively 24.14 ppm, 22.73 ppm, 23.53 ppm. The test results showed that formula 2 cream was the cream with the highest antioxidant activity. Keywords: Myricetin, Nanophytosomes, Creams, Antioxidants, DPPH.
