Abstract

Many experimental studies have proven that soursop leaves function as antihyperlipidemia, so that a literature review was carried out to compare the similarities and differences from existing researchers. This literatur review aims to determine the effectiveness and mechanism of soursop leaf as an antihyperlipidemia. The method in searching for data sources is the literature review. The strategy in searching for journals is by searching published articels on google scholar, research gate, and pubmed (2012-2021) using keyword : soursop leaf extract, annona muricata, hypercholesterolemia, and antihyperlipidemia. The journals reviewed in this scientific searchhave criteria, namely research journals in Indonesian and English, full text, not review journals and in accordance with theme. The results of a literature review of related journals are soursop leaves chemical group alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tanins, phenols, and polyphenols. Soursop leaves are effective in reducing cholesterol levels are 70 mg/kgBW, 100 mg/kgBW, 140 mg/kgBW, 150 mg/kgBW, 200 mg/kgBW, and 364 mg/kgBW. The effective dose for reducing LDL is 200 mg/kgBW and to increase HDL is 200 mg/kgBW and 400 mg/kgBW. The mechanism of soursop leaf as an antihyperlipidemic agent is by activating LDL receptors and inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme. Keywords : soursop leaf extract, annona muricata, hypercholesterolemia, and antihyperlipidemia.
