Abstract

A courtier generally has the personal desire to become a king’s servant, but it is different from a hereditary courtier, they become courtiers at the request of a king and in general are generally afraid to refuse a king’s request. So from that someone those who become hereditary royal courtiers must experience compulsion in carrying out their profession as royal courtiers. A person who becomes a hereditary royal courtier initially feels compelled to carry out his profession to become a royal courtier, but even though initially he is forced to, with the passage of time a hereditary courtier can feel comfortable and last a long time in carrying out his profession to become a royal courtier. The purpose of this research is to find out how the subjective happiness of hereditary royal servants and what factors influence the subjective happiness of hereditary royal servants. This research was carried out using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. Respondents in this study were two hereditary courtiers who served and two courtiers of companion descent. The data collection methods used in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis method used in this study uses the Miles and Huberman models. The results of the study showed that each research respondent was equally able to feel subjective happiness, each respondent had a different way of being able to feel subjective happiness. Factors that affect subjective happiness between respondent 1 and respondent 3 have the same factors that affect subjective happiness but are different from respondents 2 and 4, for respondent 2 emotional intelligence does not affect subjective happiness and for respondent 4 optimism and life goals do not affect respondent’s subjective happiness.
