Abstract

Improvement of public health can be influenced by the process of managing drugs, which is one of the components is the availability of drugs. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the process of drug management and to know the percentage value of indicators at each stage of drug management This study used a descriptive design. Drug management data was collected by qualitative data and by quantitative data from observations of related Pharmaceutical Installation documents. Data analysis was carried out by explaining the drug management process in the Surakarta City Health Department Office and measuring the value of each drug management indicator then comparing it with the standard. The evaluation result of from drug management at the Pharmaceutical Installation of Health Department in City of Surakarta are the suitability of drug items available with DOEN of 65%; the accuracy of drug planning is 187%; the availability of drugs according to needs is 100%; procurement of generic drugs is 83%; percentage of expired drugs is 0,72%; percentage of drugs are 0,72%; accuracy of drug distribution is 82,35%, the availability of drugs is 100%; the average time for drug vacancies is 0%.
