Abstract

Along with the increasing of demand and customer exspectations to health care, it is needed the improvements in service quality by health care providers. This shows the hospital needed a strategy in order to adapt and control the influential factors that are constantly changing, both internal and external factors. To know the position of pharmacy departement in Sayang Rakyat Hospital Makassar to both internal and external environtment by swot departement of Sayang Rakyat Hospital Makassar. This research using qualitative descriptive research design. Data was obtained from observation, in depth interview, and questionnaire. Strength, weakness, opportunity and threat in the Pharmacy Department RSU Sayang Rakyat makassar were known by survey and interviews so that it was known the right strategy for the Pharmacy Department by SWOT method. From SWOT analysis obtained SWOT matrix based on EFAS and IFAS in Pharmacy Department Hospital. The result of the study showed that Pharmacy Department RSU Sayang Rakyat Makassar was in quadrant two by diversifikasi position, that in an attempt to apply the development strategies of Hospital Pharmacy Department. The study to be conclusion that strategies was planning respectivelly to: increase, the budget of HPI, implement one gate system developing quality and quantity of human resources, facility to support the activities of pharmacy services, and doing research and comparative studies with other superior hospital’s Pharmacy Department.
